With SSDs reaching a new level of affordability, we no longer recommend using mechanical hard drives as primary system storage. However, for a secondary drive with substantial storage capacity, Seagate IronWolf NAS drives remain unbeatable. These drives are more reliable, offer higher capacities, and perform well (for a hard drive). It’s worth noting that higher-end series like the IronWolf Pro and Exos are intended for larger servers and focus more on vibration resistance than…

Apple Vision Pro, the company’s first foray into the virtual/augmented reality space, is selling like hotcakes. Very expensive hotcakes. According to MacRumors, which cites a source familiar with Apple’s sales numbers, the company has sold 200,000 Vision Pro units since the device became available for pre-order on January 19. This is roughly in line with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s estimate that Apple sold 160,000 to 180,000 units in the first couple of days. Kuo originally predicted that Apple will have between 60,000 to 80,000 units in stock for launch day. The 200,000 figure, if accurate, does indicate that pre-order sales have…

For many years now, my Stratocaster has been a memento hanging on my wall representing the time before I got a MacBook. I swapped my electric guitar out for a 25-key keyboard controller and a library of virtual instruments once my career headed to podcasting. In Logic Pro or Ableton, the Stratocaster could only sound like a Stratocaster, but the MIDI keyboard could be anything I needed it to be for my music or sound design work. But recently, I came across a guitar that offers those very same strengths: Jamstik’s Classic MIDI Guitar, which has brought my unused fretboard skills…
